Admission to the school is through the Local Authority’s admissions policy and procedures.

The Statutory Assessment Team (SAT) is responsible for issuing and maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in Cambridgeshire.  For more information about the Local Authority Statutory Assessment Team, please visit the link below.

School Visits for Prospective Families

The Centre School will be holding open sessions throughout the 2024-2025 academic year for prospective families to visit the school.  These group sessions are opportunities for families and students to tour The Centre School’s facilities, develop an understanding of our aims and our curriculum and gain an awareness of how we operate day to day.  To register for a session, please complete the attached form (places are limited). You will receive an email to confirm your place.

School Visits – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will we be the only family at the visit?

A: No. We will be inviting a small number of students and their parent/carers to each visit. The number of people attending may vary.

Q: Can I bring my other children to the visit?

A: Where possible we ask that siblings do not attend as this will help us to manage numbers. However, we appreciate that this is not always possible.

Q: Is there parking available?

A: We have a limited amount of parking on site during this time (we share a site and carpark with Cottenham Village College). Additional free parking can, however, be found locally within the village.

Q: Can I visit at another time or date?

A: We do not offer family visits during morning lessons, as this can prove too disruptive to learning and the daily routines.  However, if your child has been offered a place at The Centre School, it may be possible to accommodate an afternoon visit.  In this event, please contact us directly.

Q: How long will the visit last?

A: The visits are scheduled to begin at 3pm and will finish no later than 4pm.
